Seriously - I think the innocents YOU would inevitably have killed while "trying" would have disagreed.

I wouldn't unless I was carrying a large rifle capable of covering that distance and could be arced sufficiently to counter gravity.
Which... I think I would have gotten stopped by security. Also asked a lot of questions about why I'm carrying a large caliber sniper rifle into a country music festival. Questions that would be hard to answer.

A couple of things:
1. You're not going to hit a target 32 floors up with a handgun, and you're likely going to hit an innocent person.
2. If there's a mass shooting and they don't know where it's from, guess what? You're now a suspect because you're waving around/firing a gun in the crowd.
My heart goes out to all the victims of this horrible tragedy. Viva Las Vegas.

Talk about your visions of the future.
Although I assume a better use of them would have been to go up to the guys room before he started shooting.

Well I mean in the military we would have just called in an air strike but you really can't bomb a hotel

Carrying a lead weight would probably be as effective.
He was on the 32nd floor of the hotel across the street. You'd be as well trying to shoot down a satellite.
Point A:
It was a joke.
Point B: The Desert Eagle is actually really powerful and useful.
Point C: Ehhh, you're right on that one... partially. It's better to try to fight back if armed than not do anything.
