But, since we're on the topic of cuckholdry. Unless I misunderstand the law, a cuckhold can be forced to pay child support for children that aren't his.

Really?

If so that's pretty fucked up

Most states have similar laws; it is presumed that a married man is the father of any children his wife has. In many states, even a negative DNA test does not invalidate this presumption.
CYNIC, n. A blackguard whose faulty vision sees things as they are, not as they ought to be. Hence the custom among the Scythians of plucking out a cynic's eyes to improve his vision.

So?

If you're gonna be a cynic, don't be the type to sit on the side of the road and complain about everyone that's hurt you and be content to just sit around, be the type to say something and get people to look at it. #MeToo at least got big enough to warrant a thread on NSG and I think what, 50k people (or is that statistic just counting women?) shared their stories, and if just one person in someone's online friend list came out and told their story, it gets people thinking. A lot of the people posting that hashtag probably imagined they'd get attacked by their own friends, victim-blaming and all, or be otherwise judged for it. You'll get attacked no matter what you do nowadays, and there's no point in giving a shit anymore about what people think.

I already am a cynic, but also a realist.

It's a NewEdom thread. Also you have to wonder how many of the stories you see are legitimate or whether or not they're women jumping on the bandwagon and claiming that a creepy dude even looking at them is sexual harassment.

You'll get attacked no matter what you do nowadays, and there's no point in giving a shit anymore about what people think.

Except when it comes to important issues. People losing their shit over a video game where you kill Nazis isn't an issue. People losing their shit because men want basic equality is an issue.

You forget that social media was instrumental in the Arab Spring. Granted, ultimately the societal problems of the region reared their ugly heads, but in those initial days, things seemed to get better. But we're not overthrowing regimes, we're talking about changing laws for equality, especially in marriage. People lose their shit over anything. Not everyone is going to oppose men wanting "basic equality." Women aren't some monolithic one-minded culture, they're all individuals with their own thoughts. I know plenty of women that have actively supported men, and don't agree with the system either. Sure, there are people that will oppose it, but there are people that will support it as well.

Nobody thought Trump would win but he somehow pulled it off, and it seems he appealed to a large amount of people that didn't seem to vote often, but felt increasingly marginalized, whether they actually were or not.

The Arab Spring was an entirely different kettle of fish. It is different to people asking for the ability to have equal rights to absolve themselves of responsibility for children.

Not everyone is going to oppose men wanting "basic equality."

The only people that would do are already MRA's. Everyone else pretty much believes some version of the conservative or feminist idea of why men should front up for the costs of raising children that aren't even biologically theirs.

The point is, social media CAN make a difference in our world, I wouldn't underestimate it in any scenario.

You're looking at two opposing sides, extremes of each other, without considering the middle ground. There are always people caught in the middle of any movement. Don't write off everyone else as being against you, that's not how you solve problems, that's how you polarize people and turn them against you. Third wave feminism is already doing well enough in that aspect, don't join them down the path of self destruction.

There isn't a middle ground with this. It's win or lose.

Don't write off everyone else as being against you, that's not how you solve problems, that's how you polarize people and turn them against you. Third wave feminism is already doing well enough in that aspect, don't join them down the path of self destruction.

More in a pathetic way, as far as I've seen. The concept of the movement isn't bad in of itself, although the members you most commonly see are usually manchildren — we probably see them more often because they're a vocal minority within the movement myself.

The fact that you call them "manchildren" is indicative of your true opinions of the movement and it's members.

You shouldn't assume shit, otherwise you make an "ass" out of "u" and "me".

I have no particular problem with the movement (I'd consider the advocation for the rights of anyone as a noble cause), nor it's typical members. I do find those that I'd call 'manchildren' — usually the most vocal of the movement, similar to the vocal minority(?) among feminists — particularly annoying.

I think consenting adults should have complete choice in regards to marriage. For all I care, someone can have multiple partners, or not get married at all. Personally, I would like to be married some day so that I don't spend my entire life lonely, but I haven't found anyone yet.

We need to provide our robotic overlords with sufficient lubrication.

Ew. Screw it, if the terminators use human fluids as lubricants, I ain't joining the resistance.

Machines don't have their own desires or sense of true consciousness because they can never be living and thus never desire to preserve themselves, or do anything besides following their programming, however complex it may be.

Human sexuality is just stupid. It does not serve any self-interest. Instead it tends to benefit a currently non-existent being called a child.
