Why are people's 1st reaction never that its gunfire. Like every single time people think its fireworks or some other loud noise. My 1st reaction whenever I hear anything loud is that its gunfire until I see otherwise. I just don't get it.

It could have been because they were attending a concert (meaning their hearing was already temporarily compromised) in Las Vegas, where I'd assume has fireworks shows often.

I think it has been well established in this thread that if something is 'useful' or 'needed' is irrelevant. If guns are considered a basic right, then you shouldn't be prevented from having one even if it serves no other purpose but to decorate your wall.

because its logical, however its the only safe thing to do is to always assume that any loud pop us a gunshot unless you have visual evidence otherwise, that could save people lives, I would rather start running every time a fire work goes off thinking someone is shooting then stand still thinking its a fire work when someone is shooting.

Logically, as a matter of odds, any loud pop you hear is a firework or car backfiring. Much like any streak in the sky is likely to be a small meteor burning up in the atmosphere.

"Shy a few liberties", yes, now you won't be able to turn your weapons into fully automatic killing machines. What a loss! The reason we won't have any improvement, meanwhile, is because the GOP in Congress lacks the spine to stand up to the NRA and take the kind of action that would actually bring about change.

As for being safer, I'd argue that this does add some safety, if not that much.
