Statistics are relevant no matter the cause. Of all the active shooter incidences in 2016 only 4% were stopped by armed citizens as opposed to 14% from unarmed citizens so you can cross off the makes people safer from your list.

Well, I do remember that although only 13% were stopped by unarmed bystanders, that a number of the suicides occured shortly after just about any old thing fouled up their killstreak.

I've delivered a few restricted delivery parcels to that address that could have been handguns.
