Brown's on familiar ground. He's undoubtedly the most personally economically literate of the three, and Cameron's Tories have never made a speciality of the NHS.

Man, Clegg is putting on something of a clinic on interpersonal connection during debates. Going back to the lady who asked the second question over an hour ago? Splendid stuff.

Clegg just said "billions and squillions". Oh my dear God.

Also, none of them have pointed the slightly misleading but entirely appalling fact that for the amount per capita that government spends on the NHS, we could simply sign everybody up to BUPA.

Have we any convinced Labour/Tory/Lib Dem supporters on here?

It's be good to find out what supporters think about their own guys.

I'd say more grumpy than shifty. With Brown doing his awkard 'I'm pretending you're not serious' smile.

Yea I do wish Clegg would stop shooting himself in the foot like that.

...not that the other leaders have been much better in that regard.

Lurking NSG since 2005
Economic Left/Right: -2.62, Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: 0.67

When anybody preaches disunity, tries to pit one of us against each other through class warfare, race hatred, or religious intolerance, you know that person seeks to rob us of our freedom and destroy our very lives.

Cameron's a spineless, Guardianista pinko who should have talked about privatisation in the last question, not ring-fenced a budget that he just admitted provided for 5 times as many new administrators as medical staff.

In sincerity, Cameron's been as he ever is. Articulate, consistent in cleaving to motifs, themes and tropes, but too liberal for those to hsi right, and too Tory for Clegg and Brown.

Dave has offered no policies, he's talked down to us during the whole debate.

Pretty much all the tweets are positive, too. A lot of them have a tone of mild awe at how well he's done.

I think I like politics a lot more while watching this.

I'm not sure who is best at the moment, though Gordo is looking at bit more confident, and his wobbly neck is strangely hypnotic.

I'm not loyal to any party but before the debate I was leaning to Brown, now leaning back to Clegg a bit again, but as I said it's a lot easier for him since the Lib Dem's have never really had to get their hands truly dirty, and its easy for him to play on the "they're all the same, I'm the only person who looks at this non-partisan etc..." consciousness.

UKIP!

My views:

If Labour Wins, the thieving politicians will be happy.
If Conservative wins, the rich will be happy.
If the Liberal Democrats win, the prisoners will be happy.
If BNP win, the white racists will be happy.
If Green win, the hippies will be happy. :p

If UKIP win, the British people will be happy!! :)

Please note - meant as a joke although I am a pure UKIP supporter.

And lose the election?

Palledonia wrote:Dave has offered no policies, he's talked down to us during the whole debate.

He's simply repeating everything that the Tories have been talking about for the past 5 years: 'Broken Britain', cutting 'bureaucracy' and 'waste', getting tough o criminals, etc.

Spoken partly in jest. I do, however, think that ring-fencing the budget of an institution he himself has admitted to be supremely bureaucratic, wasteful and inefficient is a tad dishonest.
