I will note though, many parties in the "Other" section are making gains. :P

Bah! Conservatives hold my home town of Gravesham. Another 4 years of watching shops and other local businesses closed down as well as council house being sold off...

This election is starting to look up.

For the few, at least.

I dunno. If it really is a 50/50 con/lab split, that'd be utterly fantastic. We're talking real political upheaval stuff there.

Crap, but I wish the LibDems had done better than the damned Tories.

You're welcome to Oliver Letwin's seat. I'm told that the LibDems are likely to depose him, and since he's partially responsible for my having had to put up with smug-features as leader since 2005, frankly I'd love him to lose his seat.

I'd rather have Brown than that false man.

With an increased majority, at that - the first four figure majority David Heath has ever held.

I've long since given up trying to predict this election.

He perhaps lost the seat for the wrong reasons, i.e. his wife's infidelities (though expenses scandals abound), but I am very much against the DUP and their policies.

It'll be interesting to see what this does to NI politics in general.

So what will happen to these people who were turned away at the urns? Any sort of modern precedent for that in the UK?

And also, Letwin looks like he's about to whip out a knife and start carving people up.

Whilst I'm sure Labour have their own set of crazies, the Tories seem to collect them rather happily. I mean, you've got Boris Johnson and people like Letwin.

Honestly, I can say that even if the Tories take government, I feel considerably better knowing those DUP sell-outs aren't going to hold this country to ransom.

I'm hearing otherwise.

In fact, I can confirm that Letwin has held on with a 1.1% swing in his favour. At least we can both agree to be disappointed by that one...

Edit:

Chris Huhne looking nervous...

But has held on with an increased majority. Just what is going on tonight?

" Despite Nick Griffin's pessimism over his chances in Barking, east London, our analyst Prof John Curtice says evidence is growing to suggest that the BNP are putting in their best ever performance in a British general election. Looking at the nine seats declared so far tonight in which the BNP also stood in 2005, it appears they're up by an average of two points."

Yeah, but they don't put Brown on the telly that much, so we can basically ignore him. Cameron's face on the other hand will shine a hole through the atmosphere if we put too many press lights on him.
