Yeah, is that Robert Peston from the Who Runs Britain book Peston fame?

What's wrong with him?

First Tory gain of the night - Kingswood, Gloucestershire.

More than 9% swing, and well down the target list; points to a Tory majority government if carried through elsewhere.

Almost everyone seems to have missed a Plaid Cymru gain in Wales; can't find any details yet.

Down my old neck of the woods. I'm very interested in what will happen in Bristol South, as that's where my parents help out with the Labour party.

His wife's affair, presumably.

I get that but I don't recall anyone saying anything about this.

I guess we all forgot the UCUNF's ability to split the East Belfast vote. Top stuff!

EDIT: I'll shut up about that DUP now.

"Sources from Downing Street state Gordon Brown will seek a coalition government"

Presumably if the Tories don't reach a majority, though right now the Tories are doing better than the exit polls suggest.

Paddy Ashdown is currently rubbishing the exit polls, and thinks the Tories will get a small majority.

Edit:

Lib Dems hold Torbay!

With a vote swing away from the Tories!

I'm watching Channel 4's Alternate Election night right now actually. So far it's been rather amusing.

I think Kingswood is a pretty strong indicator, it was 135th on the list for the Tories where they need 124 seats to win a majority - the swing seems reasonably even at about 9% so far but, sure, it's certainly early days,

EDIT: Ooh, but Torbay was 54th and LibDems have just held it, interesting,

That man is freakin' awesome. If he were LibDem leader, I'd have voted for them just because of him. A few years too late, though.

I feel I'm holding the end of the uneducated voter here amongst you lot.

It's a bit all over the place at the moment, some talking heads saying Tories doing well, others saying Tories have performed less than expected.

Don't count your chickens yet, my good sir. We've yet to get all the votes in.

If it's so, I'll have to make a voodoo doll of both you and Cameron - perhaps some monstrous The Blessed Cameron.

I was quite suprised by what I saw in the papers this morning. The Sun, longtime Labour supporters backed Cameron, while the Mirror supported Labour simply because Cameron was a toff.

As predicted, Sylvia Hermon holds North Down, which officially counts as an independent gain.

Is it just me, or this the most interesting election in Northern Ireland in a very long time....

It's because he's promised those Murdochs the BBC.

Hate to break it to you, but the polls closed some time ago and the NSG poll won't actually have that much of an effect on the outcome.
