I read this morning that the girl has received a $30,000 check from Ellen DeGeneres toward helping pay for college, and she's already been offered an internship for after she finishes high school.

That's the shit I like to see. I want to see people encouraged to "whine" about discrimination. If my "whining" about sexism and homophobia is annoying to you...GOOD. If you're the kind of person who wishes that oppressed populations would just shut up and submit quietly, then I'll be only too happy to annoy the crap out of you and generally ruin your day.

Lulz not really about this issue, but if you annoyed me too much and attempted to ruin my day, I'ld just shoot you, hide your body in a swamp, or feed it to pigs, hell throw it in a field durning harvesting. Next time your folks see you it will be in a box of corn flakes lulz. Keep that in mind when dealing with some people.

Eh, I've had worse threats by far.

I've had somebody inform me that he's going to follow me home and "rape me until I'm straight." I've had somebody tell me he will cut open my abdomen and slice out my uterus and then make me eat it. I've had somebody tell me he will "hate fuck" me to death. I've had somebody tell me that they will rape and murder my family. I've had somebody threaten to rape and murder my children (I don't actually have any, but that doesn't stop the crazies).

I used to be pretty scared and bothered by this stuff, particularly given the number of people I know who have been physically assaulted, raped, or (in one very sad case) killed for standing up for their beliefs.

But the thing is, I get some of these threats even when I'm not standing up for anything. Just for existing, for being a female person, I get threats and harassment. Just for existing as a queer person, I get threats and harassment. So since I'm going to have crazy hateful sickos threatening to rape and murder me no matter what, I really don't see any point in being quiet.

Lol I almost got banned from walmart for that. Sociopath would be closer. But still wrong I show some Anti Social and homicidal natures, but not to the extrem of a dedicated illness, and yes yes I'm not a shrink. I had to see the school counciler, and some dude from the state when in mid school. I have no shame in it, who the hell now doesn't see them, or worse? Long story short, my problems arn't treatable, they are from the way I choose to live and though outdated not the result of a mental illness or truama. In fact in can be in part attributed to my Dyslexia. With various people it has side effects in other areas, such as A.E. being absent minded, in my case It makes me slightly more agressive in how far I will go versus others, but in fact in terms of pressonal agression I rate normal. So its not like I would punch you for the hell of it, so much as hunt you down for a year out of Revenge.

So short of that certified professionals say I'm okay enough, just not a person to cross

Well, the school can refuse non-students. I believe, from what I recall, that this girls girlfriend was a non-student, and therefore the girl had to get special approval (the same went for my HS prom, though I was dating a fellow student, so it wasn't actually an issue for me personally). I believe that the girls offer for her date to wear a tux was in response to the "no same-sex couples" thing, though I could be wrong.

Either way, good for this girl for sticking up for what she believes in, good for the court for making the right decision, and good for the community that the parents, and businessowners (of that hotel or whatever?) came together to restore prom, and not segregate their school community.

I had plenty of free time because of that and turned to Martial arts (which luckly we do have a few insturctors here) and backyard wrestling. Its no tough guy act, I had to be tough or be another victum. Have you ever had a chirstmas where your family could not affoard presents, have you ever had to worry in your youth about if your parents can pay the bills on time? Have you ever had to fight people who picked on you just as you grew up poor, or had to shop at walmart for you school clothes while they went to belks?
