Copts specifically, I'm not sure.

But non-Chalcedonian Oriental Orthodox Church generally, yes. That would include the Copts, Ethiopians, Armenians, and relevant Syriacs; we've certainly had the stray Armenian floating through, and I think one or two Syriacs, too.

That being said, I wouldn't recommend being baptized into protestantism, since they haven't maintained apostolic succession, or the Novus Ordo church, since they teach heresy, or the Orthodox, since they also do that and are in schism too. I'd change gears and see if there are any SSPX chapels near you. There you will be baptized, received into the church, and educated in the true doctrine of the faith, something the Orthodox, Modernists, and Protestants forsake.

Hi all, Vetalia here. I'm a practicing Roman Catholic again after a long road back home, now seriously discerning a vocation to the priesthood and more or less in application to the seminary here in the Diocese of Cleveland.

Sigh... Is it too much to ask for you to recognize the validity of Protestant baptism? I began by stating that Guelder should choose the Church that God leads him to. I then suggested for him to avoid Mormonism, since they don't believe in the one triune God. I suggested the Protestant Church since Guelder already said that was his plan ("I would stick to your course..."). I merely offered more rationale to that decision based on concrete theological reasons. It is obviously better to be baptised in the name of God and not a heretical version.

I would encourage you to become a priest. Those that have walked back to God can better connect to people that need to find the way back as well.

Thanks, I try my best to keep my eye on the Cross and remember the sacrifice Jesus made for all of us so I never forget that we can do nothing without God's grace. Every fall is a new opportunity to pick yourself up and try again.

I didn't "lob them up there." I advocated for a trinitarian baptism, but apparently that was too much for your dogmatism. The pasta chain is funny. What started it was annoying and pointless.

That's actually the feedback I got from more than a few people recently! It helps a lot from a pastoral perspective that I understand the questions, concerns and doubts of people who have lapsed because I was in the same boat not too long ago (and racked up quite a tally of mortal sins during that time). There are a lot of tough habitual sins to overcome for a revert, especially in this culture, that I can help with, as I too struggle with them daily.

Unsurprisingly, St. Augustine is my personal patron saint, and he was my Confirmation saint as his works and his story brought me back to the Faith.

And you don't think Auze saw your post as annoying an pointless, and was frustrated at you, the exact same way you're frustrated at me?

And yes you did lob that up there. You can't criticize another denomination of abandoning the Gospel without opening yourself up to the same attack from others who hold the same opinion of your denomination. Regardless of what I think of Mormonism, your critical interjections were not solicited nor wanted. I showed the same amount of dogmatism that you showed Auze. If your house is made from such fragile glass, you really shouldn't throw stones.
