I attend a Southern Baptist church, though my personal beliefs are much closer to the Quakers.

I think mine are more Presbyterian, but I would rather remain a Baptist and seek to perhaps help restore the SBC to it's more orthodox roots, rather than abandoning ship.

I feel like the SBC is where God put me, even though I've moved away from their more traditional beliefs.

I mentioned that to a few people. I also have done as much research into Mormon history as I can without purchasing a library of books on it. I'm intrigued by them, though I dislike their doctrines. I've read about the Nauvoo Legion, many of their leading figures, I purchased a Book of Mormon through a third-party (So as to avert missionaries at my door.). Anyhow, I enjoy reading about them, and discussing them, though I don't believe a word from their mouths or their 'Prophet', but it seems I've talked about their history so much some suspect that I'm beginning to become one, which couldn't be farther from the truth.

I'm just curious if anyone here sort of has a similar interest in a particular faith or religion even though you believe them to be false.

So...are there any major differences between monastic orders like Dominicans and Franciscans?

In terms of their spiritual focus, yes. From what I know.

Of course, they all are focused on the one God, but their spirituality is different.

Someone else would probably be better to ask xP my understanding isn't that great.

These cute infographics should help start you off.

Also to note, the Dominicans and Franciscans aren't monastic orders, but mendicant orders.

They're not monastic orders, and they're very different.
Aside from the difference in spirituality, the dominicans tend to emphasize the preaching and teaching aspects of the priesthood. They are, by and large, intellectual and put a premium on fidelity to the magisterium and doctrinal orthodoxy type stuff. Franciscans tend to put more of an emphasis on personal holiness as opposed to corporate things. Some franciscans are intellectual, others aren't, but the emphasis is going to be more on obedience, humility, and personal faith than on doctrinal rectitude. Aside from that, the orders are organized differently. Dominicans are very top down with no subdivisions. There is one dominican order, and the only meaningful distinctions are geographic and entirely administrative. Franciscans have three main branches, one of which can be divided into about a thousand branches- and each one has a different emphasis, apostolate, and set of priorities.

You have to accept that it's not though, because Pope Lucas declared, ex cathedra, that they are no longer canon.

Reminder that Darth Revan was the only force user ever to understand the Force as it was intended.

I hope Disney somehow makes him canon, or partly canon, he'd be a gold mine for their Grey Jedi propaganda. They have made the Mandalorian Wars canon, which Revan essentially led, so it's getting closer...

I'm going to ignore the title, and focus on what I think is the bigger story in the article:

Asked if he was trying to reconcile Anglican church leaders in places such as Uganda and more liberal churches principally in the UK and north America, Welby said: “It is irreconcilable.”

He's basically admitting that the Anglican Communion is going to shatter over this issue.
