That's about not needing tritium. I didn't even mention tritium.
I'm saying I understand separating deuterium into a relatively pure form is expensive and difficult, costing about $100 a gram. The process is pretty straightforward, but not cheap.

Trump was apparently going to release them all, but isn't now. Also heard the CIA and such were "scrambling" at the last minute about these, as if they haven't had 25 years or anything to work towards keeping anything they didn't want released from releasing or anything.

Yeah, and it seems like the Democrats are a part of the scandal now as well. The Uranium thing is heating up and so is them apparently paying for the Russian dossier and FBI maybe having a part of it.
A lovely mess.

I don’t understand why I’m supposed to be scandalized by the concept of opposition research.

Buttery males!
It's a trick the GOP learned long ago, especially regarding the Clintons. You don't actually need proof of anything, you just have to scream wild accusations and insinuations all day every day, for months and years, so that eventually the total lack of any evidence or follow up doesn't matter, it just sinks into peoples heads that it seem like every time they hear about them it's in relation to another "scandal", and surely that means they must have done...something.
