But seriously, how well do the conditions have to be in order to have so many hurricanes?

It's 2005 all over again

I wonder if this year will top that.

Maria is now Category 5. The hurricane isnt even here yet and the winds are strong as hell.

Im getting some pictures from Dominica but I dont know if its possible to share it on here.

Everyone up here is mostly worried about them. Yeah, sure, one of our islands was destroyed but we only lost one person, a baby. I dont know how Dominica is going to handle Maria, a cat 5 hurricane.

Yes new climate change models predict the storms will continue for the rest of history it appears the east coast will by and large be uninhabitable.

Neptune wants to do me a dirty and send Jose towards us, according to what I just saw on the Weather Channel for a few moments.
What I do?

At least it's probably weak.

eDiT: Never mind? Gotverdammt, I'll just wait three days.

All we need are some super sturdy wind turbines in the Atlantic and we'll make oil redundant in a week.

Yes your only hope is to sell any real property you may have that is within 100 miles of the coast to me. Sadly it will be pennies on the dollar but it is better than nothing when it is flooded.

Wind power is overrated.
All this new water means more sites for nuclear.
I think...

Thank you, thank you hurricane Maria, for ruining my trip to FL. My mom had to cancel her trip (I was going to meet her in Orlando) because of you. So much not yay.

If it makes you feel better I shall get revenge on the Earth by leaving my SUV idling for an hour.

According to the Japanese Civil engineering handbook all nuclear power plants must be built on the coast along fault lines.

Dont a I put a brick on the Gas so it is high idling.

I don't know if putting a bunch more CO2 into the air will help the problem but revenge makes me feel better.

I mean, you could also strap a bunch of sensors on the back and do what they did in Twister

You have just volunteered to fly the sensors into the Eye of the hurricane.

Any objections to the mods renaming this thread to turn it into our "The Atlantic hates everyone" hurricane megathread?
