From the peaks of the vast mountains of Florida.

I'm glad the loss of life wasn't higher, still this was a bad storm.

Thankfully, the storm diverted further West. If it had made landfall in Miami-Dade like it was initially going to, it would have been a total disaster.

No power since Sunday. I'm on the verge of attacking my power companies headquarters with molotov cocktails. There was little to know storm damage. Less than 50 downed trees in the whole town. How could it take this long?!

Why would you assume it's a shady organization? This article in the NY Times has more detail than the CNN one above. They were doing the best the could, they called Florida Power and were told help was on the way. It's a tragedy but I did not get the impression the people running the place were indifferent to the suffering of their patients.

I went to BBC for my source on it, though that is not nearly as detailed as that NYT one either.
I still smell something fishy somewhere.

I mean, my friend just north of Miami just got their power on back yesterday. Can't imagine what would happen if they got hit head on. Especially with all those cranes and such.

I once visited the tallest waterfall in Florida.

Which, if you're wondering, is a small stream that flows into a sinkhole.

Well, a lot of fish were probably washed ashore all over Florida. It's better, I think to put it down to stupidity and being caught with their pants down than to active disregard and lack of care for their patients.

Let's not forget that there's also Tropical Depression 15 that reappeared in the same general Area where Irma formed and is expecting to take a similar path as a Irma.

There's also Tropical Storm Lee further east but it looks like it's not expected to reach land.

It seems like it will go to a hurricane, die back down to a tropical storm, then turn east and grow again and probably eventually peter out.
