Cuba really really did slow it down. Slowed it down to a Category 3 but it should gain speed on the way to Florida.

At the moment, the best case scenario is that Irma stays at a Cat 3 slowing down a little (probably to 115-110mph) then strike Florida. Worst case scenario is that it regains strength and becomes a powerful Cat 5 again (probably 160-165mph) then strike Florida.

Currently, it looks like we are going for the worst case scenario.

Not sure, but I think hurricane Irma is this season's troll. It goes up to cat. 5, down to 4, up to 5, goes fast, goes slow. She should join NS.

Maybe, i do only watch Fox News, i watch it on YouTube because i don't live in the US, but the hurricane is currently at category 3, winds 125 mph gusts 155 mph

Has anyone heard anything from the USVI... more specifically St. Thomas? We've been trying to reach our family down there but it seems like everything is down. I heard they got hit pretty bad too and that people died. We're really worried.

That is definitely not true. If I had two eyes, I could see where I was going a lot better and I would not always be tripping over islands.

Why are hurricanes termed after stereotypical timid and shy female names or literally random as hell male names? Why not Bellatrix, Rosaline, Victoria or some other majestic feminine name? Why not hurricane Tyler, Tony, Karl or Mayweather (dat pun doe) why not some roughed up gangster type name for the males?

Until about a generation ago, all hurricanes had female names. Many women protested that this practice was sexist, so the policy changed to alternate between female and male names.
