Italy and Germany promoted neither unity nor progress.
(rather than partisan hatred).

Partisan hatred built the Nazi Party.

Fascist dictatorships are built on false promises.

In my view they weren't real Fascist states because the said dictators did not put the rational good of the nation first

Hm. What's wrong with a fascist dictatorship. Hm.

Hmmm.

Gosh IM you've got me there. As a Jew I obviously have no reason to dislike the idea of a fascist dictatorship.

Nazi Germany wasn't a true fascist state, it got caught up in some unrelated race war/extermination agenda. It wasn't anymore Fascist then the Cambodia was truly Communist.

A true Fascist state would have put the good of the nation, the whole nation, first.

So, your definition of fascism contains an inherent goodness? Then you're not really describing fascism, are you?

Because like capitalism it's the best we can do for now.

Better than entrusting all your power into one dude who stays in office for life or having it inherited by his pampered, unqualified family members or keeping it within the bounds of a select group of people.

No, IM is actually right. Nazism puts too much emphasis on the "master race" bullshit, even going so far as to put it before the state, ergo it's not truly fascist. Most of the Nazis didn't even want to surrender when defeat was clearly imminent, well aware their nation could possibly be destroyed if they didn't. As far as they were concerned, the "master race" had failed and didn't deserve to live and neither did it's nation.

That's not fascism.

All the more reason to be against autocratic governments, because I doubt you'll find any long lasting autocratic regime that actually cares about it's people/nation.

No, yeah, I completely agree. Autocratic governments are far more susceptible to corruption, and most autocrats are raging assholes.

Honestly, it didn't really matter who they would surrender to. They were facing the hangman's noose either way.

Sure, I can understand the mind set of the average Soviet soldier during the rape of Europe, but I doubt that the Polish and Jewish women that were raped cared. WW2, especially on the Eastern front, was pretty much just a shit storm of human rights abuses.

It's still a bit biased when people focus on Soviet war crimes and ignore the ones the Wehrmacht committed, pretending like only the SS were the monsters.

Never once did I say that. I haven't forgotten the rapes, massacres, and other war crimes committed by the Nazis, but that didn't/doesn't give the Soviets the right to rape their way across Eastern Europe, or turn the countries they "liberated" into little more then vassals.
