I have a bloody nose. It had started yesterday morning, stopped, and now it started again, but I think it's stopped.

Well that’s not great to hear. They must be inconvenient... having a pressure upon you doing daily duties. I haven’t had a nose bleed in my entire life, but I could imagine having one. :(

You're lucky. They suck, and they can get really messy.

They can get disruptive if you’re in the middle of something. Talk about being in class, when you have to desperately ask for tissues and ask for permission to go to a toilet to wash off. Doesn’t sound nice.

On Facebook I found this:

It is TERRIFYING how much of myself I see in this acrimonious lawsuit.

So it turns out that I'm not the only one who left the practice of law after getting screwed over by my first employers.

Reading this was both excessively painful, and therapeutic. This poor employee in this case had it 10 times worse than me but the level of passive-aggressiveness, hostility, displays of power, and insensitivity displayed by the law firm employers was close to exactly what I experienced. Though they were sociopathic enough not to file a lawsuit because they knew it would backfire (why do that when they could instead write a letter to the regulators and display my articling by over a whole year)

The level of pain, psychological harm, and acrimoniousness I cannot even begin to imagine.

I am so glad to leave all of the behind now but close to three years ago, I was definitely borderline suicidal.

...

Do you ever in life read someone else's real story and then go... "hey wait a minute, something like this has happened to me"?

Yes.

Judas Iskariot's.

Believe me, it was hard trying to find a Roman these days. Especially one that could pay me thirty pieces of silver :(

Woke up today to find three dots of itch on the same side of the same hand. I ignored it as I thought it was a mosquito bite. Then I recall that I didn’t have the itch before I slept.

I’ve rarely been bitten by a bedbug before, but they really suck. Now I am remembered of how annoying they can be.

The West won the world not by the superiority of its ideas or values or religion … but rather by its superiority in applying organized violence. Westerners often forget this fact; non-Westerners never do.
