With false teachings? Rather, teach them something that’ll benefit their skills of critical thinking, that will help them excel in the academic world and not merely old folk tales and traditions.

You sound like a total fucking bummer. No offense.

And it does teach critical thinking if you play it right. Some people take the whole thing too far and then its a bit of a problem.

If you're under fire in the no-man's land of WW1, you start digging a foxhole even if the ideal time would be when you *aren't* being bombarded, because once you wait for it to be 'time', other situations will need your attention, assuming you survive that long. I never told my kids "Sinterklaas" (Dutch version of Santa) is real. I did tell them why other parents lie about it.
And that it is our secret, so no telling other people.
Also told them I don't believe in a God, but I am human and thus capable of fallacy. They need to find out for themselves.

I do promote creativity and imagination. And trial and error experiments, and the scientific method of proving/ disproving facts/ theories. We talk about it, life and the universe.

Always. Experience helps people to better understand how it feels like, looks like... etc. It’s the reason why there’s no great teacher of death.

If the parents don’t develop into more deeper traditional stories of Santa, surely it would cause some harm. I’m not fully opposing telling such things, just don’t go too far with it.

And I am a bummer. You won’t want to be with me sometimes.

There’s always the chance of supplementing learning with fun creativity. Not with boring lessons and worksheets everywhere.
