I went to the Barneys New York store near my apartment today. For those that unaware, Barneys New York is a high-end clothing store that is going bankrupt. It was often considered an institution of high fashion.

Anyways, the store near my place was surreal. They had already sold all off all inventory (at a rather large discount), and were in the processing of just selling anything else in the store people wanted to buy, including mannequins, mirrors, artwork on the walls, shelves, couches from the fitting rooms, etc. By the time I walked in, most of the store had been cleaned up, except some empty shelves and mannequins lying around. There were people with moving trucks outside just hauling stuff they snagged out.

Bear in mind that this store is in the middle of a very ritzy/posh area of the city that has a lot of foot traffic, so it wasn't some abandoned mall or anything like that. One of the best restaurants in the city is also on the floor above the Barney's store. What's even crazier is that this store occupied five stories of its building.

I'll have to find a way to share some of the video and pictures I took.

California’s GDP would still be more than 3 times the size of a United Cascadia’s GDP, which is weird, since we’re the one that probably has oil.

California tightly regulates its oil industry, it is why gasoline is so expensive there, despite there being ample reserves.

Alright, alright.

The original idea was that Washington and Oregon would be working together, equally, to break off and become Cascadia. But then Oregon did nothing. And they kept doing nothing, and they kept doing nothing. They just made shoes and used weird words like “spendy” and turned Fremont into an entire city. Eventually, we had to take matters into our own hands, so we covertly made Oregon have to be more productive through harsh means and scapegoated California and Californians. It backfired when tons of Californians actually did start coming in and doing the opposite of the good productive things we were doing. They thwarted our dreams of a united and free Cascadia. So we tried spreading our own influence into Oregon, but it was too late. That just made it worse. Oregon is a lost cause now. We can’t have any Cascadia south of the Columbia River.

It wasn’t our fault Washington helped ruin Oregon.

I’m just tired of the fact there hasn’t been any recent new countries. I’m eyeing this year’s Bougainville independence referendum, after New Caledonia’s one last year was a sad flop.
