Uhm, there are a lot.
For example, the name of the city of Surabaya in East Java comes from a big fight between a crocodile (baya in Javanese) and a shark (sura in Javanese) for territory that resulted in one of them getting killed.

Another one is that there reigns a powerful lord in the ocean south of Java, where she commands a world of the genies and magical creatures, the name goes as Nyi Roro Kidul. Because she loves the colour green, she's going to snatch everyone who wears green-colored attires, thus the ban on that kind of clothes in many beaches in Yogyakarta. The legend also said that sometimes she deliver huge waves to the coastal areas, wreaking havoc to get another followers from the drowned inhabitants.
The last one more like an ancient explanation for the tsunamis, I guess.
