They are part of the Cthulhu mythos, yes. To quote Wikipedia:
The Deep Ones are a race of intelligent ocean-dwelling creatures, approximately human-shaped but with a fishy, froggy appearance. They regularly mate with humans along the coast, creating societies of hybrids.

Now, whenever some terrible thing happens, it’s not shocking like it used to be- Hell, to be honest, I feel almost no reaction. It’s basically just a part of life now. It seems like that’s increasingly common with Americans now, not so much in the rest of the world. I only realised that it was so different for Americans after the Christchurch shooting, where there was someone from New Zealand on a Discord server I’m in, and all she could think about was thr shooting. I guess in my mind, that happens all the time. It’s just a thing that happens.
I get that I’m probably a horrible person, but it’s personally true. Am I the only person that feels like this, or do other people (especially Americans) feel the same way about it?

Years ago. I was around seven. All I recall is being there in the lift with my grandma, doors not opening for a few minutes, then everything went back to normal. I’m not sure I was entirely aware of what was happening so no recollection of feelings. It was rather quick.

‘Rather quick.’ Funny how you should say that... if I were you, I’d be pacing up and down, being tense and I’d remember how it’d feel.
I’m happy there’s a call button inside the elevator.

Like I said, I was a child and didn’t grasp what was happening. Other than the lift doors wouldn’t open for a few minutes, and then they did.

Month and a half ago, about thirty minutes. It was an adventure!

I hadn't been stuck in an elevator before. It was terrifying! Adventure!
