Yeah, tuition fees are expensive. Work is essential, therefore.

Damn. I'm not doing to bad. Filling out applications for local PD and Fire as well as considering going back to school to get my JD.
Though I felt like I had been sucker punched earlier this week.

That's less of a concern -- at least in my field, it is expected that if a grad school actually wants you, they offer you a fairly sizeable stipend, so you can expect the amount you have to pay on your own to be fairly negligible. I'm fairly involved in local politics, though, and I'd like to be here for the midterms. On top of that, I also have a wedding to plan -- we're shooting for the October after this one and it would be a lot easier to pull that off if we aren't dealing with having just moved to another state so I can go to grad school. But it's also harder to get back into the swing of education if you take time off and it'll be harder to arrange things like letters of recommendation and get help from my professors in navigating the application process if I'm doing this geographically far away from them.Thermodolia wrote:Damn. If you don't mind, what happened earlier this week?

It was a mix of things; life, my grandfather ending up in the hospital a second time in a few days, and a few other things. All of it hit at once. So ya. Grandfather is doing much better though so that's good.

Glad to hear he's doing better. That's a lot to deal with.

Warm milk actually does work, for me, anyway. Turn off the electronics, unless you have a music player you can set to playing soothing sounds. Read a book, that often works for me, too.

Sounds horrible and insensitive.
Proceed.

I mean, not necessarily soothing sounds. They could be like me and fall asleep to Iron Maiden.

I'll have to try that, and the book as well. I usually have my computer playing a 10 hr track of rain noise, although that gets a little depressing when you check up on it after hours of tossing and it's halfway through..The Holy Empire of the Spaghetti Monster wrote:> soothing sounds

I think I'll just stick to the rain

That was a productive, if exhausting, evening.
