You could do that now with a cheap lighter.

For me, I would have a ability to mind control the Bourgouis into giving up their property, and then send positive feelings to prevent them from getting mad.

Additionally, I will mind control Max Barry into giving me control of NS.

I'd like to be able to shapeshift into various animals. Birds, fish, reptiles, etc.

Though, I'd also love to have an equivalent to magic, or being able to cross dimensions into 'fictional' worlds.

Healing powers. Not like Wolverine, but the ability to cure injuries and illnesses in both myself and other people. Also, the ability to imbue others with the same powers. I'm gonna eliminate disease.

Two small powers that I am unashamedly stealing from a friend of mine:

Parking Luck. No matter where or what time of day, a spot opens up right in front of where you're going just as you get there.

Exact change. Whether I want to buy a pack of gum or an aircraft carrier, the exact amount of money I need appears in my pocket whenever I make a purchase.

That's why I prefer mind control. I can just wave an empty hand over the card reader and be done with the payment. Plus like I actually could get them to carry the stuff home for me and maybe even come in and do some basic chores whilst still under my power.

I can get why the power would terrify you but why the name? It's just a female gender nation name derived from the color Purple. Although I must say that I am glad you are terrified because that is where I am going with this. That and disturbing.

He was recently portrayed in horrifically disturbing fashion by David Tennant in the Netlix series Jessica Jones, which I both highly recommend and place a huge trigger warning on.

I did not know that. I am not really a fan of the whole superhero genre in general so like I really don't keep track of these things. The only reason why I know of the mutants is because of that one X-men cartoon that was on cartoon network ages ago.

Anyway now that I have learned about this I will say that the coincidence is most fortuitous because it plays well into the theme I have going. Therefore I would encourage everyone reading my posts on this topic to make the same connection from now on.
