After doing some self-exploration, I arrived at the conclusion that, based on my own personal characteristics, I would likely wind up controlling electromagnetic energy. This could be used to alter the functioning of electronic devices, alter synapses, create/bend light, levitate metallic objects, manipulate static electricity, and the like. Depending on things like training and augmentation, I could very well wind up with the ability to use remote sensing, telepathy, mind control, technokinesis, ferrokinesis, and the creation of EM storms.

It'd be pretty baller.

I would make good use of a telepathy/psychokinesis combo. That's what I wished I had when I was kid watching the 90's X-Men.

I wouldn't mess with people's minds or make things fly for pleasure (at least not in public), but being the practicle "make this good for something" type, I might moonlight as a vigilante. Nothing violent. Make criminals turn themselves into the police naked, or some such.

If it did still work, and I'd like to think it would because of all the time I spend online, the sites I read would have much nicer forums or comment threads.

I could probably make bank, too. Two main options: getting hired to copyedit a publisher's books, scripts, etc; or blackmailing the current copyeditors.

My power would be a mass consciousness-esque indoctrination aura; this would functionally alter all minds within my proximity, and the infected's proximity, to mirror my exact thoughts, desires, emotions, etc. Secondarily, this effect would enhance, empower, and further strengthen my hive mind control over all infected.

If I were a mutant I would want the power to predict time on an atomic level. For example I would be able to know how many seconds exactly it would take someone to flex their muscles before they go to hit me or how many seconds an it would take for the signal of an alarm to reach where it was going.

You'd have a fair portion of the world's scientific community on your doorstep begging for help!

Brandon Sanderson has a couple of books where there are people called "Forgers" who can rewrite the pasts of objects in order to change their present.

So you could change a lump of rock into a priceless masterpiece carved by Michelangelo, turn a solid wall into a badly-maintained, flimsy artifice, or make it so that you were raised by Kung-fu monks.

In the book they have to use very carefully crafted stamps to do this, and the effect wares off quickly depending on how implausible the new history is. I think I would drop the stamps and have it work off physical contact, but I might keep the plausibility limitation just because it forces you to be creative.

I can already tell you... My shoulders spin in a nearly full circle within the socket. I am a mutation and I'm not even superhuman yet. I'd just enhance that to all of my joints and make them be able to move faster to become a full weapon.
