I don't see how it's fair that you force someone to buy something.

yeah what a burden it is to "force" you to buy something you want.

Not every one needs health care for example I'm a teenager I'm not really going to be in the doctor any time soon and therefore do not really need insurance. I would rather spend my money on college and other things.

you arent covered by your parents?

Yeah but I don't need it really need it is what i'm saying I probably shouldn't have put that last part though it was a mistake. The point still remains that not every body wants or needs health care.

everybody needs insurance; not everyone can afford insurance.

No not every one.

There are people who are never sick or injured?

No but there are those of us never sick or injured seriously

Health insurance, really. It's odd that the argument is being phrased the way you put, that not everyone wants or needs health care. Your mother giving you an aspirin when you have a fever is health care, the amount deducted from your father's pay for health insurance. Let's look at it this way: You're out of the house, living on your own, and you choose not to buy health insurance. You're young, you're healthy, you can spend the money on other things. One day, through no fault of your own, you eat a bad bit of beef and get really sick. What do you do? You go to the emergency room, I imagine, and they slam you into a bed and shoot you up with all kinds of medicine and because you don't have insurance, you're presented with a hefty bill. You can't pay it, of course, so the hospital eats it. Well, not really, they pass the cost on to others by raising the rates they charge people. That raises my insurance premiums, because the insurance company needs to cover their costs, too.

So you just cost me money. How is that fair?

There are people for a certain time will never get injured. Mostly those from 20 to 30 years of age. Plus is it really the governments job to force some one to do something? Eating right and exercising is a great way to keep healthy is it a good idea for the government to force every body to do that? It's also a great idea to go to college should the government do that?

I hate this idea more than the idea of a public option the idea that government would force you to do something just because it's good for you. It really makes no sense to me if they want to do something stupid let them but don't force them to do something just because it's good for them.

I sort of agree with you, but the problem is that people without insurance usually end up costing the public thousands more than they should, as they end up in the emergency room, and often default on their costs.

Also, it's not a public option, it's a mandate. Which is worse, but the republicans wouldn't let a public option in.

There is the key. I don't have a large sum of money in my bank at anytime, so a large deductible is not feasible. Plus, a $50/month plan doesn't sound like it would equate to very good coverage.

Also, wanna know how much Eric Cantor's anti-HC reform speech costs? $130,750. That is how much the insurance lobbies paid him last year. Oh, he also got 70 from pharmaceuticals, and 37k from health services.

I don't care about what side it is, neither gives a damn about what we think, since they're are so much more intelligent than we are, and understand what we need, far better than we possibly could. Much like a small child with a magnifying glass, and an anthill.
