I don't see how it's fair that you force someone to buy something.

yeah what a burden it is to "force" you to buy something you want.

Not everyone wants it! That's the problem. Most people who don't have it are between 21-30, and do you want to guess which ages group(s) have the highest rates of cell phones per person?

what do cellphones haveto do with it?

They put radiation in one's brain that makes one crazy?

You can stay on your parents plan until you are 26. I don't think any teenagers are being forced to buy insurance under this plan.

People with cell phones can just call each other and find out what to do when they get sick. Or log into NSG and start a thread: "I'm spurting bright red blood from where I cut myself, what should I do?"

They see it as infringing on the babies right and also as quasi-murder.

Right. Its completely consistent if you start from the premise that fetuses/embryos are human beings.

The ones who oppose contraceptives, on the other hand...

I'm not one of those people how ever and do not really understand the mind set very well of those who are against contraceptives. I also think they are a good idea for those who are married as well as those who just want to have sex. IMO what ever some one wants to do in the bed room is their right that's why I generally don't consider myself a social conservative except on abortion.

Play by Play: Woah.. calm down it looks like she's out of time!

Color Commentary: She sure is!

Play by Play: And look! Here comes Republican Shelly Moore to make her blanket analogy!

Color Commentary: But Wait! Wait a minute, the House isn't in order! What excitement!

Play by Play: We haven't had a lack of order in about 5 minutes!

The young would rather spend their money on cellphones than health insurance. Duh.

Not every one needs health care for example I'm a teenager I'm not really going to be in the doctor any time soon and therefore do not really need insurance. I would rather spend my money on college and other things.

Well a teenager has loads of life experience with which to make the call on whether or not the sick and disabled should have healthcare...
Yes, to hell with everyone else, let's make sure you get what you want. In fact, if you even pay taxes you better stop because those welfare queens are milking the system and we can't have that.

you arent covered by your parents?

Yeah but I don't need it really need it is what i'm saying I probably shouldn't have put that last part though it was a mistake. The point still remains that not every body wants or needs health care.

Mourn not the passage or not passage of this bill. Mourn for the split which this health debate has revealed. Mourn for the fact that the two sides are so locked in their ideology that we can no longer talk to each other and instead talk past each other. Mourn for the fact that people would insult old men with parkinsons or that politicians have to resort to deals just to get healthcare past. Most of all mourn for the spirit of democracy and how we no longer work for any goals but our own. Mourn; for compromise, a crucial part of American history and necessary to our future, now surely must be dead.

I love the CBO. So young, so filled with hope. But that's beside the point.

Reading the bill is hard to do, isn't it? Well, I can't expect everyone who supports the bill to have the patience.

I found that interesting.

Actually I believe that no one should be dropped because of Preexisting conditions one of the rare things I agree with. Also I think that we should increase Medicaid and decrease Medicare and raise the age of Social Security to 70 or so.
