Alright, to kill the silence I flipped over to the 24 hour news channels, first up was MSNBC, the cable lists what's on as "The Mind of Manson."

Add to that they are interviewing Daniel Lungren (R).

(during the weekend MSNBC usually runs a bunch of true crime shows that they are preempting for this.)
"...I have been gravely disappointed with the white moderate. I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in the stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Council-er or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice; who constantly says "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I can't agree with your methods of direct action;" who paternalistically feels he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by the myth of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait until a "more convenient season." -MLK Jr.

IIRC, called the republicans out for saying the democrats don't care about veterans.

EDIT: challenged not for content, but rather for directly mentioning another member.

They always do that. So do the Democrats. It's traditional. Sort of like George Bush touting his Air National Guard experience against John Kerry's combat service in Vietnam, back in 2004.

Well of course because all republicans were in the military and all democrats were card-carrying commies hurr durr.
The Republicans love to talk about the military as long as they don't have to talk to the guys and girls missing body parts because of their Operation Halliburton Profits.

See also Straws, Grasped At.

I think what we're seeing from the GOP is the ritual of Getting On The Record. These words will be used in the autumn campaign to try to persuade the voters in the Congressional districts that their Representative stood tall in the face of the opposition to preserve liberty and freedom and the American way of life.

Show me politicians (or, for that matter, NSGers) who don't flaunt their (e)penises and I'll show you an alien.
