I hope not. Yes, there will be no more new Linkin Park songs with Chester as their lead singer. But they said, "Our love for making and performing music is inextinguishable." I know they would never be the same, but I can accept the change. After all, they're all about change since day 1.

Even on their earlier albums, they had a few instrumental tracks and things. Not big hits, but still stuff that made it onto the albums and wasn't bad.

But their biggest hits were songs that just wouldn't sound right without Chester...

I couldn't agree more. Songs such as Numb (my all time favourite Linkin Park song) and In The End wouldn't be biggest hits without Chester.
Not to mention One Step Closer. The "SHUT UP!" part gives me chills every time. And the 18-second scream in Given Up is just brilliant.

My favorite is probably "Breaking the Habit," but there are a lot of good ones.

"Numb" reminds me of Italy because it was all over Italian MTV during the year I studied abroad there. Linkin Park was really popular over there. My copy of Meteora is an Italian bootleg that I got as an afterthought when I was buying CDs from a street vendor -- but then I fell in love with it when I got it home and listened to the whole album. And then I had to get Hybrid Theory. And a T-shirt. And so on.

"Numb" became my all time favourite because as a kid, the lyrics are just relatable (parents' expectations and stuff like that). And it happened to be in the same album as "Somewhere I Belong", the first song I've heard from Linkin Park. When I was about 4 or 5 years old, most of the songs from Meteora was being played everywhere so I just fell in love with it.

I didn't know about Hybrid Theory back then as the popularity of Meteora overshadowed it at that time, and I was just a year old when Hybrid Theory came out.
I started listening to Linkin Park more often when I got their first two albums back in 2014 (my step father gave it to me as a gift). And since then, I started buying any Linkin Park stuff I can find.

"In The End" was being played all over the place my freshman year of college, so that was the first LP song I heard.

I think a lot of their lyrics are relatable when you're young. I like the line, "All I want to do is be more like me and be less like you." It really captures that feeling of having your parents in your business telling you what to do with your life.

Nowadays, I don't relate to the lyrics as strongly as I used to, but it's still pretty solid music.

God damn, he was my....3rd favorite vocalist.
The mere fact that i pissed someone off either means i stood for something or i said something offensive.
in this day and age it's both.

Indeed, because most of their earlier stuffs are made out of teenage angst. That's why some teenagers and college students can relate to their songs.

I'm wearing one of their t-shirts by sheer dumb luck. Picked it out of the closet before I heard the news... They've always had good t-shirt designs.

My father and I were watching music videos by Linkin Park the night it happened, we found out the next day. Coincidences can be creepy.
