As a Canadian, I do not want my country to lose its identity and independence to the Americans. It is bad enough having to deal with a deluge of American content on our airwaves, I do not want to deal with American politics more than I already do.

Quick question for the Canadians out there, why do you always seem to assume a country like this would use the American political system (2 parties, EC, etc...)? A lot of Americans don't even like it, so...

Absolutely not. The last thing we need is the toxic political climate of the United States ruining Canada, one of the few seemingly reasonable countries left on this god-forsaken planet.

And at this point, Mexico isn't really worth the effort of annexing it and adding it's own internal problems to our own.

Would it be less expensive than a border wall? (See my constitution for a potential Arpeggian Constitution) I think if we united we could drone the shit out of the drug lords and have responsible gun ownership in the form of various militias rather than the individual right to bear arms. Who knows maybe the world would stabilize a little more than where it is now because "the great Satan" (America) is "dead" maybe things would get worse... what do you guys think? If it is American centered, Central America would see it as Imperialism by America and revolt
If it is Canada centered, Countries that fear Socialism would revolt due to their socialist governments
If it is Mexico centered, we're all screwed
If it is some random small nation centered, Bigger nations would revolt
If it is everybody centered, Patriots and Nationalists would revolt.

It is a loosing scenario no matter what nation you pick to be centered around

USA and Mexico wouldn't mix. There is too much of a cultural difference.

Canada and the USA should not combine. The US Presidential system, highly politicised courts, and gun policies are too problematic.

Asian illegal immigration is a huge problem, and it is often tied to human trafficking and organized crime. It's only "less" of a problem because we're currently being swarmed on the southern border by Latin Americans and because the media likes to make it seem like Latinos are the only illegal immigrants.

A lot of those "Latin Americans" near the southern border were always there to begin with, but you make a good point on how unaware the general public is of illegal immigration from Asia.

And yes, economic integration across vastly different economies accelerates the funneling of wealth to those who are already wealthy.

Politically we'd have a three party system, as Mexico is more centrist, Canada is more liberal, and America, at I think, is more conservative, so it depends. With all the money we'd generate, perhaps we could help the poor and impoverished.

I would support it but it is highly unlikely.

I think it could be pulled off if we merged several government programs within the three governments establish or expand the universal healthcare system(CAN) to cover all of the North American Union, then you have to make sure all states/provinces will have equal say and government along with population, then there would also have to be an education boost because you would have to learn Spanish English, and possible French, and really I think Mexico would be the hard part, atleast with Canada, most of us speak English, about the same culture(Dammit Quebec), and expand on several of Canada's systems for use by the US, and on top of that both nations have strong militaries, peaceful and stable and are developed nations. Atleast with Canada there is a chance.

Now with Mexico there is a chance of it too, but most in Canada and the US would not agree, due to Mexico being a developing nation, fighting a brutal Drug war, a sub-par military, and high amounts of corruption. Then a language and cultural barrier and it would cost so much money to fix up the nation and so much violence to push out the cartels and stop the drugs.

Alot more go into it but I decided just to go over a small amount of issues.

Because most countries in North America have a Republican form of government.
