New Jersey Budget Crisis

The New Jersey State Government could not find compromise for their budget. So many July 4th firework shows are cancelled, postponed, or moved to another location. So what should they do? They should find a compromise before July 3rd 11:59 PM. What do you think they should do to?

4th of July fireworks are probably the least of a governments worries when it comes to finances.

Seems Maine is in the same boat has NJ. Long term solution for NJ. would be to allow exploration of gas/oil off the coast and tax the production. Short-term time to restart the Iron, copper and zinc mines and tax the production. Pres. Trump said to buy US steel first before foreign. Steel needs Iron. And northern NJ. is abundant in Iron.

We've got Illionois in trouble as well, as always. Illionois keeps doing it so I don't think people give a single fu*k about it.

Before democrats got a super majority in California there was this annual budget crisis and all the state workers would get ious and things would shut down and out of state media would go "what the hell is going on in California!?"

And Californians would realize it's just June. That at some point we thought it'd be nifty if budget matters could only pass with a 2/3rds majority and this was the circus we created. The crisis was more show than showdown.

Is that happening in New Jersey? Fuck if I know. But that's the thing. I don't know enough about New Jersey to know if this is a meltdown or a Tuesday.

Of course, Christie ordered the government shutdown because he wasn't allowed to bully a corporation (Horizon Blue Cross/Bue Shiedl) into spending their surplus to fund his pet project.

Then posted signs blaming the parks shutdown on a little known politician.

Then spent the day with his family on the beach at a park that was closed to the public.

Remember this is also Mr. Bridgegate -- he who uses his position to bully and punish people he doesn't like.

I'd like to say he's a disgrace, but he's not even the biggest one in politics.

I'm of the opinion that any legislature that fails to get a budget passed and allows a shutdown should be immediately dissolved, but unfortunately that's not how things work here
