Canada is more free, safe and prosperous than nearly any other EU country.Souseiseki wrote:https://i.redd.it/l9vilwgnt7j01.png

Britain is already a theocracy because centrism is a religion. We are forced to practice it in school, work, and public life.Souseiseki wrote:Questers wrote:Perish the thought of children singing hymns in state junior schools. What a miserable tyranny England can be!
i don't think anyone mentioned that
but i am now quite amused by the venn diagram in my head of "people who think it's PC gone mad to not want kids to be made to sing hymns" and "people who would get super mad if kids were forced to sign nasheeds"

Labour is just a better sect of centrism than the Conservatives.Souseiseki wrote:Questers wrote: Britain is already a theocracy because centrism is a religion. We are forced to practice it in school, work, and public life.
you voted for labour while citing their authoritarian tendencies and social engineering as good points. not sure you have the right to complain about that, even as a joke.

i don’t actually think centrism is that bad. Its superior to almost all alternatives ie nazis/saudis/feudal tribesmen et cetera.Souseiseki wrote:Questers wrote: Labour is just a better sect of centrism than the Conservatives.
that doesn't change the fact you voted for them, or that you consider many of the primary things that turned them into a "shoving centrism down your throat" pound shop bad thoughts police positive values that you actually want more of

I mean maybe, I'm not saying you don't do it ever, but it's actually very hard - near impossible - for people to engage one another about religion (politics) without having a clear idea of what the other person believes.
