I'm surprised Hammond is still in the game ... didn't expect him to survive to the budget. Will he fuck it up?

There's only so many people Theresa May can fire. She's already hated by the "left" and "right" of the Tories, she doesn't need more enemies.

Department of International Trade relays on behalf of British interests and encourages investment opportunities for UK-based businesses.

Y'all see the reports on the IRA doing vigilantism in northern ireland?

Kneecapping people, shooting them in the legs, beating them with iron bars and such, for crimes?

Issueing notices through doors that people need to show up to "Appointments" or they'll be shot and killed?

There is an out of control trolley speeding towards Jeremy Bentham, who is tied to the track. You can pull the lever to cause the trolley to switch tracks, but on the other track is Immanuel Kant. Bentham is clutching the only copy in the universe of The Critique of Pure Reason. Kant is clutching the only copy in the universe of The Principles of Moral Legislation. Both men are shouting at you that they have recently started to reconsider their ethical stances.

Thats been going on for years, usually against drug dealers and the likes from nationalist paramilitaries (fuck, it happened in my street once), unionist ones are usually doing it to themselves and peddling the drugs.

Though they can do it to others too, recent examples being catholics "ordered" out of a shared housing area by unionist paramilitaries (most likely suspect being the UVF) and Republican ones threatening staff at a place near derry iirc, though i cant remember what the facility was.

Yes yes, I'm very well aware that you would be more satisfied had this been an EU negotiator and the oil company was Total SA. The EU after all is a supreme polity that deserves praise everywhere it goes, for its footprints turn the earth underneath into pure gold.

Tbf I have no issue with vigilantes against minor issues that the police does not want to respond to like drug dealers. Unfortunately the police is too underfunded and to soft to deal with things like that.

It's the 70th wedding anniversary of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip. Have you sent their majesties a gift of platinum, or are you some manner of treasonous republican?

I'm convinced they just have a giant roulette wheel with each section having a country instead of a number, and that's what they use to make desicions.

What are your thoughts about the UK losing its seat at the International Court of Justice to India?

In my opinion, the Brexit is what really put UK’s position as a world power into question, with other countries no longer afraid to question the credibility of a country that once ruled nearly 25% of the world. In my opinion, the UK will soon become just another country in the world, while other countries overtake the UK in many areas, even in the human and social rights rankings: for example, the UK isn't doing terribly well at social welfare, with the arguments over Universal Credit.

The UK has been declining as a world power for 60 years or more. Brexit is no more a cause for this event than anything else, and I say that as an unapologetic remainer who thinks that if the country had any sense we'd stop this damaging and ridiculous Brexit before its too late.

Remaining in the EU and inexorably drifting towards the status of a local province within a superstate would do much worse for the credibility of the UK and us retaining an independent position on international bodies. There is only so long we would have been allowed to "opt out" of ever closer union and act as an anchor holding everyone else back from what they - and we - signed up for when we joined.

More widely, the developing world is catching up, that's what happens when you start from a much lower point - there's a greater scope for development and countries with a larger economic base and more resources will end up overtaking us if they run their own economies competently. It's basic economics.

We have been declining relative to other countries for well over a century, long before we ceded our Empire. That's not the fault of Brexit. I'd rather our status gradually declined to that of "just another country" than to an ex-country and a province of Greater Europa.

The ICJ isn't relevant anyway. They should change the name to Former European Colonies and European Court of Justice because it ain't international
