So apparently progressives have gone around inventing new slurs against demographics they don't like again and this time the leader of the english nationalist party is sueing one of them for hate speech.

The "Gammon" thing explicitly relies on race and sex as part of the criteria, but the progressive mentality often outright denies the possibility of racism and sexism against whites/males so they didn't have self-awareness about this.

I don't expect it to work, but it probably should if we were being consistent on it.

And heavy drinking.

It's notable that this section of the progressive left is focusing on white males as responsible for brexit and using slurs against them rather than arguing against, say, people in general who voted for brexit. Strikes me sort of like when nazis and fascists endlessly rant about corrupt Jewish bankers.

Because ultimately its the same kind of shit going on, they just hate white people, males, and white males especially. Let's not forget this is the group that brought us the memes of kill all men, male tears, manspreading, mansplaining, etc.

It appears to be a hobby of theirs to pollute culture with more racism and sexism. I'm fine with people starting to try and get them done for it.

The difference is that many on the progressive left get offended by people with different opinions than them and can't handle dissent. This is an outright insult, it's intended to offend, and it's a racial and sexist slur on top of that, and that is the context of its use here.

If someone went around commenting on hooked noses it wouldn't be "Gosh you're so easily offended snowflakes" and most of society would recognize it as repulsive and racist. This is not much different.

I think you're just throwing that out there in order to pretend something that isn't true about the dynamic in play here.

Notably, we don't have mainstream politicians and journalists talking about people "Jewing" others out of their money, but we do have a bunch of progressives lackign self awareness and waffling about manspreading and mansplaining while saying "No but the term describes a real thing (That both some men and women do but we're only focusing on men)"

The United States is one of two countries (along with Eritrea) that taxes on the basis of citizenship as well as residence; so all US citizens (and Green Card holders) living outside the United States have to pay US taxes. This is, of course, why our part-Turkish US-born Foreign Secretary renounced his US citizenship a few years back.

The corollary is that the new Duchess of Sussex would have to reveal at least part of the royal family's financial affairs to the American IRS if she doesn't renounce her US citizenship ASAP.
