Why not? He pursues policies they agree with and works towards goals they like, such as restricting immigration and getting rid of legislation they think is dangerous, like Obamacare. Trump makes sure to keep saying that he believes what they believe and he repeats it enough it could sound true to someone that wants to hear it.

It's not going to be a series of awful missteps and clouds over Washington that erodes Trump's remaining support, it will have to be grand failures that shatter the image of him as a strong leader. Congress is well on the way to doing that with healthcare and I'm sure no one in Washington wants to see how tax reform talks go, but I think only Trump completely fumbling a domestic crisis the way Bush fumbled the Hurricane Katrina response will really damage his credibility.

Yeah, but they support a guy who keeps making us look like idiots daily. And the majority them still support him. Its sad. I have a hard time taking the majority of the Republican party seriously anymore.

34% amongst independents isn't that bad actually. Higher than I expected.

34% is pretty bad for a new president (Trump is still new).

Sure for a normal president, but for Trump? 34% is downright impressive.

The Trump administration's "voter fraud" commission wants states to provide political affiliations and voting histories, in addition to other personal data. This is a massive violation of privacy. Even Republican state officials have said no.

Mississippi Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann said in a statement that he had not seen the letter but would rebuff the commission.

"They can go jump in the Gulf of Mexico and Mississippi is a great state to launch from," he said.

It's interesting to see Republicans from Mississippi becoming frustrated with Trump.

This is the stupidest shit I've seen so far from Trump's administration.

Then again, it isn't surprising, really.

Can I just say how much I'm going to hate these next three and a half years?

Constant whining and moaning on the left, constant whining and moaning on the right with the noticeable partisan division in America growing as well. Not to mention Trump's relatively odd policies. People say to be "politically aware" but considering that the political world is a shitstorm at the moment, I don't think I want to.

Actually, I gotta sit with New Haven on this one.

As monstrously had Trump is, democrats as a group are faring even worse, and that says a lot.

At least then I won't have to read a Trump tweet, I expect the power grid around the Twitter servers will have failed and we'd be cut off from that particular punishment
