Also quick I might add? I mean, Stupid Watergate doesn't make it very hard to find evidence quickly, but these things can take forever, can't they?

A while back they were saying that this investigation is progressing faster than Smarter Watergate. I guess we're seeing its first fruits.

I'm not really worried about Pence. He joined the team relatively late, and isn't part of the bizarre slurry of family and business associates that Trump has surrounded himself with. If anyone in the fallout radius is untainted, Pence is going to be that anyone.

Even so, methinks he'll be guilty in the court of public opinion should he ever be sworn in, and his reputation will still be tarnished to a degree just by association. Should Pence be sworn in, I don't expect him to be doing that much better, all things considered, with the American people. If he pulls a Ford and pardons Trump, then people'll really get pissed.

All hypothetical, though.

Mevermimd youd have to go through Paul Ryam before gettimg to Hatch. That said, itd be fairly trivial to impeach Ryan. He is hated by everyone

If Trump looks as guilty as he possibly could be, it won't matter what party is in charge. Leaving Trump in power and looking like complacent hyperpartisan hacks could do just as much damage as possibly starting a civil war within the Party and losing Trump's cult of personality.

Now, if Trump does end up looking as guilty as humanly possible, the best thing he could do for the Party is resign to at least leave them in a position to salvage themselves for 2020.

He'd have to be the dumbest man on the planet to try and fight something like this if he's super-guilty.

Whoa, let's clarify our terms here: impeachment only means the House has brought charges against him.

How about if Trump sticks it out until they do, and then resigns before the Senate has trial?
