Was that before or after deciding that civil rights laws don't apply to LGBT rights?

They weren't definitially white when they got here, and their forms of racial prejudice practically evaporated long before any non-white minority got any sort of leeway.
You don't hear the term "Mick" as often as "Nigger" anymore.

I just hope the Dems don't get all crazy and nominate Sanders/Warren 2020. Maybe Patrick would be OK.

You say Sanders/Warren 2020 like its a bad thing.

They weren't even considered white until relatively recently. Much in the same way that the KKK and other white supremacist orgs talk about "white pride world wide", but constantly spew antisemitism, despite the fact that Askenazis are pretty fucking white.

2. And? You're sort of strengthening my point here.

1. Most people I'm aware of supported Bernie in the primaries.
2. Not really, because regardless of how shitty it was for Italians, Irish, and Jews, it was always worse for blacks, asians, and latinos. And the IIJ group was later invited to join in with oppressing the BAL group.

And? Most people I know supported Hillary. So clearly there's a disconnect here. Not just with you, but myself as well.
To clarify, I never drew up such a comparison, neither did the person I quoted. Simply put, there are "...whites in America who have had a long history of being oppressed and discriminated against."

Hillary was more supported by the Democratic Party because the Party apparatus favored her. As the general election proved, though, she had much less popularity with the general public, which is the reason Sanders, who was a fucking nobody nearly beat her.

Nearly beat her? This wasn't 2008, where it was practically split evenly. She won by 4 million votes in the primary. Compared to 08, where there was a 300,000 vote difference. I'm always amazed at people who think Sander's got close or even better yet would have fared better in the general based off of data from the very same pollsters that predicted Trump had virtually no chance of winning.

However, it was never institutionalized or as heavily ingrained in society as against non-whites.

Hillary and Trump were the two most hated people in the country, of course Sanders would have done better.
