People have accessed me of exaggerating when I call the current president a fascist leader. But this latest move by his administration supports my claim. Fascism isn't revolutionary, it is a slow, creeping disease that infects a society.
This is how it starts. First they create distractions. Then they legalize violence while no one is looking, then they send their legions of supporters to attack their chosen target. And then once "chaos" has been manufactured they use it as an excuse to eliminate the system altogether and create their own.
Too extreme to happen in America? We'd be far from the first wealthy and powerful nation to fall into the fascist trap. And the signs that we are heading down that path become more clear every day. Let's just hope that Congress acts while they're still empowered to do so.
It's just a brief, at least, that's not binding as far as I know. A court would have to rule it doesn't apply to LGBTQ people for it to be official. Or am I mistaken?
