One of the interesting thing about looking at this from the long-term perspective, is just how the pendulum swings. I count from Carter (but have looke into the past), and have noted, that we swing from left to right regular basis. We will see four to twelve years left, four to twelve right.

I knew we were going to see a shift to the right this time around (Trump was a bit of a surprise though).. Putting up hillary was the left shooting itself. Again a surprise.

So does that mean that for at least a few years we're going to see an upswing in actual communism or something?

True, I got to be honest that I sort of fear either side getting a Japanese LDP-style advantage demographically, which the Dems seem most likely to curry in the long run, though if they screw up their blue collar history then they might just be able to lose that.

That being said, and I don't like it, I imagine this almost is going to be the mirror reflection of one of the famed shootings under Obama, but I forget which one when a Dem person got shot in the head and survived. .
