Possibly, I know CNN made a big song and dance about going through his social profile. Not sure if FB got a 'investigation only' filter to some of their channels, but it's likely it's been archived by now before FB got their asses onto it.

On the good side it seems to be a lone nut. On the bad side, just like with one of the political shootings under Obama branded a fear of right wing extremism from the establishment, this will likely do the same on left wing extremism since an effective precedence was set.

True, I got to be honest that I sort of fear either side getting a Japanese LDP-style advantage demographically, which the Dems seem most likely to curry in the long run, though if they screw up their blue collar history then they might just be able to lose that.

That being said, and I don't like it, I imagine this almost is going to be the mirror reflection of one of the famed shootings under Obama, but I forget which one when a Dem person got shot in the head and survived. . Sufficed to say a lot of association by proxy and gun debate nonsense surrounded that story to tarnish the opposition.
