It's generally considered democratic to give victory to the candidate that the people vote for.

No, it's that you have an indefensibly exclusive definition of "left-wing" that stymies rational discussion. Calling James Hodgkinson "right-wing" despite his known political statements and affiliations indicating the opposite still doesn't get us to the "right-wing has committed the vast majority of political violence in America" even if you crown the pile of actual right-wing political violence with the attack on Scalise.

Get a room.
"...I have been gravely disappointed with the white moderate. I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in the stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Council-er or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice; who constantly says "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I can't agree with your methods of direct action;" who paternalistically feels he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by the myth of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait until a "more convenient season." -MLK Jr.

Only "mostly"? :eyebrow:

Look, I'll be the first to admit, I very much disliked Obama back when he was first elected, but even back then, I had no qualms whatsoever with how he got into office (unlike Trump and W).

The minority of people voted for Trump. The majority voted against. Hillary alone got 3 million more votes than him, and that's not taking into account the 3rd party candidates. The only reason he won, was because the Electoral College is yet another form of legalized election rigging.

A majority of those who voted, voted for Hillary.

Let me break it down with math.

Trump got 62 million votes (more or less). Clinton got 65 million votes (again, more or less).

62 + 65 = 127

62/127 = 0.48
65/127 = 0.51

3 percent may sound trivial, but in elections, it is not.

Well, we still have people mistakenly thinking Trump won the majority of people's votes, despite all evidence to the contrary. Your argument, and your metaphor, are invalid. You get nothing.

And what if it isn't shittier next year? What if it's better for all American citizens? This pessimistic attitude is what got us into the shit this year...

The only way it would be better for all Americans, is if the entire administration got impeached one after another, along with at least half of both houses of Congress.

The people (that bothered to vote) voted for how they wanted the Electoral College electors from their state to vote. Both candidates knew how many EC votes they needed. Only one candidate actively campaigned to win them.
