No one made them attempt the voyage. They're voluntarily assuming the risks and it would be wrong to bail them out so as to shield them from any and all consequences for bad decisions. If these people are allowed into Europe, they will suck all of the European welfare systems dry. There will be a surplus of people whose skills are near worthless in terms of the labor market- people who aren't worth whatever the minimum wage is in terms of output and will only have a parasitic relationship to European states which are burdened with their presence.
What you have here is a good argument against treating people with cancer, or saving people who've been in a car accident or is trapped in a burning building.
