What exactly am I 'politically'?

Postby Pyroxa » Fri Jun 02, 2017 3:13 pm

I am so so sorry if this is the wrong place to post this, total newbie forum-wise.

I'm basically not sure what line of political thought I fall into. I know where I am on a political compass but it seems to be a hell of a weird place to be in as I don't see lots of results for people who end up in the same area (here: http://gotoquiz.com/politics/grid/22x37.gif & https://www.politicalcompass.org/chart? ... &soc=-5.85).

I have absolutely no idea what realm of political ideology (like classical liberal, social democrat, libertarian etc.) I would fall into based on this and google has honestly not been that useful to me, so I was hoping if someone here could either help shed some light or point me in a direction to get a clearer example? Thank you :)

You're a libertarian, harry.
“It is difficult for me to imagine what “personal liberty” is enjoyed by an unemployed hungry person. True freedom can only be where there is no exploitation and oppression of one person by another; where there is not unemployment, and where a person is not living in fear of losing his job, his home and his bread. Only in such a society personal and any other freedom can exist for real and not on paper.” -J. V. STALIN
Ernest Hemingway wrote:Anyone who loves freedom owes such a debt to the Red Army that it can never be repaid.

I'm no expert, but right leaning libertarian seems to be the answer.

You're a right libertarian with emphasis on the libertarian.
Edit: This is probably the right forum for this.

I don't think there's enough economic liberalism to qualify as a right libertarian. That said, these can only indicate a general position. You have to read the philosophies behind the politics to get a clearer idea. You should look into classical liberalism and social liberalism as well as libertarianism.

I agree with Philjia, you should consider classic liberalism and social liberalism.
Also, I recommend you to use 8values, it is a political quiz that at the end, collects your answers and puts them on a scale of eight different values, and then gives you an ideological match, to show which ideology is more similar with your results.

From my experience, the PolComp is shifted a lot further left than it should be.
I think it's fair to call OP a moderate-right libertarian, and I say this as someone who is not one.
