Ashmoria passed away last night.

At 2:45 AM yesterday, Ashmoria passed away from complications related to cancer, at the age of 59.

I don't entirely know how close she was to this forum (nor how close any of you were to her), but I do know that this was the only online community that she regularly participated in. She would regularly describe to me some of the debates she had here, about how tenacious many of the participants were, and how colorful some members of the board were.

Nationstates had been one of her favorite hobbies for nearly ten years, in a time when so many other communities had moved to Facebook. I thank you for that, no matter what role you played in her life.

Yes, colorful is a good description.

Has it really been ten years now. I can't even remember what the earlier discussions were like, I do remember having some opinions though.

I'm just a lurker, but I've read her posts for many years. She was part of this place like trees are part of the land.

I'm glad the things she wrote will continue to be here, we can go back and read them, and remember her.

She is going to be missed. It's a loss for NationStates, sure, but it's the greatest loss for her family and close friends. My condolences.
