Speaking of which, what places can you suggest to me for going out in Dublin?

Not looking for clubs, but am looking for decent beer.

Temple Bar and surrounding areas. It's gotten a small bit on the keep an eye on your wallet and don't look for trouble side over the last few years but it's still the best spot for pubs and late bars.

Just follow the throngs on a Friday and Saturday night, that's where everybody is heading out.

Beer goggles are a hoax and dates are disgusting and should be banned.

It is very much a tourist trap. Largely because Dublin's small and there's only so many nightlife spots.

You could try Capel Street if you're into jazz, but it's much quieter. I like the Quartiere Bloom but you're not much of a wine guy, right?

There's a movie night being organised:

One of the movies is by Tyler Perry
Another is tied to Adam Sandler
The third one is a Stanley Kurbick film

Presumably; I asked, kind of dumbly, if the name was that of one of his films and in hindsight, it obviously is, there's no other movie with that same name. :U

Avoid Bulmers/Magners. Unfortunate Clonmellian that I was I really should plug the hell out of it but it is the dirtiest drink to have ever gotten an aggressive marketing team on it to make it a success. It tastes great, sure, but it's fatally toxic and intestine lining destroying for anyone over the age of 25. You will wake up the morning after hating life regardless of any preemptive measures.

Craft, to be perfectly honest.

Falling Apple Cider and Stonewell Cider are two that I've actually seen on tap in bars in Dublin and they're both fantastic. If they don't have them, Orchard's Thieves and Rosie's Dew are both established non-craft ciders that are decent, but Orchard's Thieves is another one hard on the stomach.

If all they have is Bulmers on tap, save yourself the misery and ask the bartender if they have any craft bottles in-house or just hedge your bets and get the internationally safe option of Kopparberg.

Thank you for your answer.

And I'll go local :)

Edit: with the ciders that is, not that pick otherwise :o

Be efficient and get yourself a bottle of Calvados instead.
