Impossible. Poland cannot into space. Aryan German Supper Science(!) proves that it is against the laws of the universe.

JPL is a part of a US government agency. Government agencies and such can have boring names. However, Rocket Lab is a private corporation and thus has the freedom to have a more unique name. Their lack of such a name is thus disappointing.

Also, disappointment is nowhere near the same as despise. Thanks for continuing the War on Straw.

Great news, yet my attention is still turned at SpaceX. Rockets cheaper than Chinese ones, and they're managed by the best tech entrepreneur.

I think the neurotoxins is more Jeff Bezos' plan. Whereas Richard Branson wants to create a beardy master race.

Is there really anything wrong with this though?

But I think Dave Duchovny would play Archer in the live action role.

Aren't NK long range missiles called Dong Feng or some such?

So when the launch fails, they couldn't get their Dong up? They brag about how long it is but they're just compensating for their case of projectile dysfunction...

Dong Feng is Chinese. And they're more than capable of getting their Dongs up. Hell, China sold some of their Dongs to the Saudis.

So they didn't make it into orbit? Its a shame. Hopefully they make in on their next shot. I do have doubts over their market though. How many 100kg payloads are waiting to be launched that can afford their own multmillion dollar launch vehicle. Its an order of magnitude more expensive than hitchhiking on a larger rocket although 100kg payloads are a bit on the heavier side for piggy backing on other missions so maybe their on to something? It'll be neat to see where they go.

Also I knew about the launch ahead of time and wanted to watch a livestream only to find out they don't have one. Its 2017 even if you're a small company you should be able to live stream your launches.

Frank Zipper wrote:I have the suspicion that all these billionaires funding space vehicles, are building themselves escape pods, rather than hoping to further space exploration.

If the founders of Rocket lab want to use their Electron rocket as an escape pod they'll probably want to go on a diet. Max payload of only 150kg or so.

It's interesting that expansion of launch capacities is coming from private rather than public investment. Canada hasn't had domestic rocket launch capabilities since the Churchill Rocket Research Range was abandoned in the 1990s, but now a private company (also controlled by American investors) wants to build a new facility on the east coast.

I guess it must be safe enough to launch shit into low orbit at least for private investment while the popular interest has died off in most of the world.
