Sure did. And yet no one is rabidly calling for his execution. Well...at least not for that. Well...at least not anyone in the media or the government.

Only one person called for her execution the rest of us just want her to serve out the 35 years.

But when one of their own does exactly the same thing as Manning and Snowden, but just out of sheer neglect/ignorance (meaning there is no noble intent behind their actions), then its silence. Not a peep. I guess in Trump's case, there is a fair bit more media and government attention, but still.

Right, but the point is that if these people calling for punishment against Manning and Snowden, people that call them traitors for leaking information, are acting very hypocritally, because when one of their own leaks sensitive information suddenly its not a big deal that there was a leak.

Surely, if what one actually cares about is the leaks and the fact that classified information was leaked, then it doesn't matter who leaked it. It becomes clear that the establishment is going after people like Snowden and Manning for going against the state's own agenda, which is not actually a crime.

Let's say Soldier A was committing war crimes with wild abandon (killing civilians, prisoners, etc). Soldier B leaks this information for the purpose of the wider public, but it accidentally leads to Soldier A's capture by the enemy. Would you still charge Solider B with treason?
