Who should convert in an interfaith relationship?

My friends Brian (LCMS) and Courtney (RCC) are contemplating marriage. They intend to have (many) children and want to unite in a single faith. Which faith makes the most sense for them? (IOW: who has to change less to convert)

I would say which every part the religion is least important to.

Both should leave the church and become atheists imo, but that not happening. :p

Also, expand your OP and add your opinion or else this is risking getting locked.

They should both convert to the Aztec religion.

Whichever one is best for the children, if it's the children they're concerned about. And why not both convert to something different?

Okay, here's my take:

Lutherans seems to be Catholics who don't believe in transubstansiation and ignore the Pope. (I'm a "Cafeteria Catholic" FWIW, Courtney is quite devout)

There's a shortage of pyramids from which to toss those sacrificed in North America. Trump should fix this....

Don't think I'd support a religion that kidnaps infants for their own nefarious needs.

Pastafarianism. That way the kid could go to school dressed as a pirate and any attempt to say he's out of dress code is a violation of religious freedom!

What kid WOULDN'T want to go to school like a pirate?

They should both become agnostic atheists, and raise their children as such. Also, I have no idea what RCC is.

A detrimental term designed to enslave young children and prepare them to slaughter other beings in the galaxy.

Which one, if any, IYO is "best for the children". What should they convert to if they can't agree between RCC and LCMS?

A detrimental term designed to enslave young children and prepare them to slaughter other beings in the galaxy.

Or, alternatively, to be slaughtered by their former masters.

There's only one fair way.

Let God decide.

Flip a coin.

What's your opinion on this?

Personally, it's up to them. Let them sort this shit out. If you come here just to get advice, we're not an agony aunt.

Anakin was never a Master. Sammy Jackson said so. :)

Neither, but if the wish to consolidate, let it be the one who isn't as invested in their faith.

LOL. I guess it was so obvious that I expected them to just say Catholic in that case.

Well, as you say, LMCS doesn't literally believe in transubstantiation, so that's a plus if you want to raise kids who can properly compartmentalize fantasy and reality.

And I dunno, UU? Least there the kids can explore all sorts of beliefs. But if you mean a religion that actually has a more or less specific set of beliefs, I guess United Methodism, if only because I'm familiar with it.
