On the other hand, coastal elites have zillions of dollars and lots of shipping terminals, and plenty of arms companies make all kinds of fun toys overseas, too. Don't fool yourself into thinking a modern civil war would be anything short of an interminable, world-shattering bloodbath.
It'd probably collapse the Union for the most part.
But also mass starvation across even rural as supply chains stoop. They need fuel too, you know, and they certainly got a lot more distance to cover.
I also fail to see how this would be a war that could possibly sustain just 2 (Or 3, old gov't) factions. There's going to be a LOT of splinter groups.
