Autocracy, when wielded righteously, can lead to many good things. Freedom for the individual invariably leads to evil, such as the hundreds-of-thousands of abortions that are performed annually, mostly for elective reasons.

I don't know of a time when a blood transfusion is not medically necessary.

I'd argue that psychiatric care for depressed people is medically necessary should thoughts of suicide happen.

But, sense most of the time these things are medically necessary, they would still be denying them for no reason other then "My religion says no."

That can lead to a headline of "blood transfusion to cancer patient denied beacuse employer didn't want to pay for it."

You just ignored what I said. Medically necessary procedures shouldn't be allowed to be denied under any circumstances. That includes medically necessary abortions and blood transfusions.

Most abortions, though, are NOT medically necessary, but done for the sake of convenience.
