Even if that is the case the president can decide (stupidly) to declassify the information. In which case he can share it (although that will likely harm any relation we have with the country providing the information).

I think Trump crossed the Rubicon if this is true. He's alienated enough Republicans with that along with the Democrats to face impeachment proceedings at some point.

On some level, I kind of don't buy it? Issues I've seen lots of people (on both sides) flip on once Trump actually did them:

-Firing of Comey (this is a big one for the Democrats, they flip flopped like crazy. Trump supporters were more consistent because they resented him not "going after" Hillary more)

There's a difference between thinking that he deserved to be fired and thinking that this firing isn't sketchy as fuck.

-TPP (Again, I saw Democrats giving mixed reviews on Trump nixing the TPP, Trump supporters were slightly more consistent; they've always hated it and continued to)

No, not really. It's pretty much always been shit.

-NAFTA (Democrats, particularly those in online circles, were all about Bernie curbstomping free trade. Trump enacts Bernie's policies and suddenly he's a moron)

.
"This would be a good idea in theory, maybe for some time in the future" and "fuck it, let's do it right now" are completely different proposals.

Trump supporters and Democrats alike have both flip-flopped on whether or not Wikileaks is good. And a bunch of other key issues. But to pretend that the left is consistent, and rational, and observant in its hatred of Trump is equally as absurd as pretending that Trump supporters are such in their undying love of him.

Erm, no, not really. Wikileaks' actions have changed (from revealing matters of public interest to outing gay people in countries that execute people for being gay), and so people's opinions have changed accordingly.

Can't wait to hear from Trump supporters about how Hillary's emails were BAD but Trump leaking directly to the Russians is fine.

No, by "village idiot", we mean "moron". The comparison to Trump is obvious.

Unfortunately on a technicality it is. The president has the authority to declassify information. It could be claimed that he did so here. Clinton, on the other hand, did not have that authority.

I know we had at least one other president do that.

There were about a dozen other republicans in the primary of the last election. Didn't stop him then. Trump doesn't need to fail to get reelected in 2020, he needs to be made to face the consequences of his actions before the year is out.
