The Senate will have the benefit of actually knowing what this bill does and how much it will cost before they vote on it, so I doubt it'll go through in its current form. I think most of the reason for the haste on the House vote was the the "yea" majority was so shaky that knowing the cost might've made some of them vote against it.

Haven't checked Twitter yet, but I'll bet Trump is taking a victory lap anyways.

So in a nutshell forty percent of the population are going to lose their healthcare in order to fund a tax cut for the top two percent.

Why would they do that? Repubs own the Senate.

Well? If you really want to get the feeling of democracy is a bad thing. Watch a news story where a mid west person is talking about how this will screw him over but he still supports Donnie.

I remember a Kentucky (at least I think that was where he was from) coal miner who said he didn't think the coal jobs are going to happen, make america great is a myth, and he will be worse off. BUT!....he still supports Trump.

I thought I could relate to these people but I am not sure anymore......

From what I've heard the GOP is going down the budget reconciliation route with it in the Senate, meaning no filibuster and only 51 votes needed.

They could very well pass it soon if that's the case.

I think this is still the one with income-flat age-based tax credits.

Which, ironically, will help me in the short term - until their method collapses the insurance market, but then everybody's fucked.

Upper-middle class here.

As much as there are criticisms of Obamacare, I fail to see how this measure from the GOP will benefit the people in your income bracket.

Mind explaining to me what's in it for you?
